Forthcoming Club Weekends

Alnmouth March 19th to 22nd March 2027.

HF have offered us a three day self guided walking holiday at Nether Grange in Alnmouth, Northumberland. Nether Grange is a former 18th century granary in the pretty coastal village of Alnmouth. It is famous for its colourful cottages, superb walking routes, and peaceful beaches, where the River Aln meets the North Sea (in its heyday, it was a working river-port, exporting grain, wool, coal, and even the odd pipe of Madeira wine). Not only will you be a 40-minute drive from Northumberland National Park, but also within easy travelling distance of several castles, including Alnwick, Dunstanburgh, Lindisfarne and Warkworth. There is no car park at the House. However, there is parking on the street and also at the railway station which is a mile away.

If you do not want to travel by car, there is the option of travelling by train to Alnmouth station. Alnmouth has a small but well-connected bus network, with the X18 providing the main link to Alnwick, Berwick, and Newcastle, and the 418 offering a limited coastal service. Buses also run from Alnmouth station. So don't forget your bus passes.

Three nights, full board is £299 per person.

We have been offered 7 single rooms plus 2 doubles for sole use at £25 extra p.p. per night and 6 twin/doubles. More rooms may be available if demand is high.  We will offer varied guided walks by our walk leaders. In addition, there is a discovery point in the house which has local walking maps, routes and local information for anyone wanting to guide themselves. If paying for two people, both surnames are required followed by deposit.  There is an urgency to get a response from you so I can confirm and secure the booking as it looks like they have a lot of interest from others.
