We are a local group of the Ramblers: Congleton Ramblers

The Ramblers is Britain's walking charity, working to protect and expand the places people love to walk and to promote walking for health and pleasure.

We welcome everyone, young, old, (or in between), on your own or with a friend or partner. We would like to see more people join the club to enjoy the beautiful countryside that is on offer.

How fit do I need to be?

We offer a typical range of walks from 4 to 16 miles. A general level of fitness is required. However, you will be surprised how the miles will simply go by on a day and you may look back in amazement at the distance you have covered at the end of the day.

Who is welcome?

We welcome everyone! -Walking is a great activity and there is no reason to be put off if you are young, old, (or in between), on your own or with a friend or partner. We are a friendly bunch and will do our best to make you feel welcome.

What characteristics do I need?

Just a sense of adventure and some humour - We walk in all seasons and nearly all weathers!

Equipment?

A suitable pair of walking boots/shoes, some clothes to keep you dry/warm, a rucksack, a packed lunch, and sufficient water, is all that you should need to get you started.

Where do I .... go to the toilet?

This is a common question from new people - Sometimes there will be facilities but other times not. However, as we are in the great outdoors there is always a place to go and while it may be strange at first it really is not a big deal.
